MEA ITEC Short-Term Training Programme on “Tourism Development, Management & Regulation” at Goa Institute of Management (GIM), Goa, India – 17 to 29 March 2026

The Goa Institute of Management (GIM), has been empanelled as an official partner institute under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
It is to inform you that GIM will be conducting a two-week residential specialized training programme titled “Tourism Development, Management & Regulation” under the ITEC framework. This programme is scheduled to be held from 17th to 29th March 2026 on our campus in Goa, India. The programme is specifically designed by the Centre for Public Policy & Governance (CPPG) of the Institute for mid- to senior-level government officials and professionals from federal/regional tourism departments, ministries of tourism, allied sectors (such as hospitality, cultural heritage, sustainable development, and economic planning), and related public sector organizations, in ITEC partner countries. It aims to:
- Enable participants to understand the macroeconomic aspects of tourism, particularly in small and tourism-dependent economies
- Assess the impacts of tourism on employment, income, regional development, and external balances
- Examine contemporary trends shaping tourism, including digital platforms, changing consumer preferences, public–private partnerships, and diversification into wellness, medical, cultural, and hinterland tourism
- Share India's best practices in sustainable tourism development, policy formulation, destination management, and regulatory frameworks
- Foster bilateral cooperation through knowledge exchange and networking
